Come Meal Deal with me
Hi there!
As part of my third year Marketing course I am required to write a series of blogs on a topic of my choice. Like many students I enjoy a good supermarket meal deal and therefore, I have decided to review different meal deals from different supermarkets. So strap in and enjoy some very mediocre blog posts.
For the first instalment of my blog, myself and my not so enthusiastic flatmate Callum ventured out to Sainsbury's Local on Woodlands drive. The choice of options was limited with the only real snack option being crisps- this was very disappointing.
What did I get?
Main meal
For main `I picked myself a Southern Fried Chicken wrap. This wrap was very average and lacked flavour. The wrap itself was very tough with its contents being mushy and not very enjoyable. When making the warps Sainsbury's needs to put more thought into freshness and their chicken to salad ratio. Overall, this main was not great and I would not recommend it!
Drink and Snack
For the drink I chose a Tropicana, smooth of course, this was refreshing and managed to mask the unpleasant aftertaste of the wrap. As a snack I got myself a packet of Walkers Max Punchy Paprika crisps. These crisps are one of my favourite crisps however they did not compliment orange juice well leaving an interesting aftertaste. Overall, the drink and snacks on their own were lovely but as a duo there was too much flavour clash.
Price
The price of this meal deal came to a grand total of three pounds fifty. I thought this was reasonable considering the quantity of items included. However, if the price had been anymore I would not have been so eager to pay due to certain poor aspects within the main meal.
Final Score: 2/5
Well Sainsbury’s meal deal choices have certainly gone down over the past few years. I don’t disagree with this score at all
